Happy New Decade to you, here is our focus for 2020, what will be yours?

By Paul Laughlin

A very happy new year to you & indeed a new decade. How do you plan to start the 2020s? Have you taken time to be mindful about your priorities?

Having spent some time reflecting over an enjoyable Christmas & New Year break, here are some of my thoughts for this blog.

It has been a delight to see our readership grow over the last 4 years and I’m conscious we now have a more diverse readership than ever before. For that reason, I will seek to keep our content a mixture of both entry-level and more advanced topics.

My own thoughts have turned to the very human aspects of your leadership role. By that, I mean both the challenges of the “People side of Analysis” and how your work fits with the rest of your life & especially your values. Expect to see more content unpacking those themes & more book reviews (as I have set myself the goal to read more in 2020).

That topic of Values will be our focus for January. I hope you continue to find our content useful in 2020 & look forward to your comments & conversations. Hopefully, this is a useful addition to past January themes on setting goals & how to achieve them.

As has become traditional here, I will also issue a readers survey this month. So, please be thinking about both what you value from this blog & anything else you would like to see changed or added.

Until then, have a wonderful start to your year. I wish you well!
